Since 1972, the Rites of Spring Festival has been bringing an eclectic mix of artists to Vanderbilt University. Originally conceived as a way for the university to interact with the neighboring Nashville community, this two day music festival has turned into one of the best events in Tennessee.

Tickets went on sale February 24 and only cost $55 for the weekend. For that price, you can count on this festival selling out like it does every year.

The Flaming Lips, Phoenix, Wolfmother, My Morning Jacket, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Violent Femmes, and Smashing Pumpkins are the alumni list. The full lineup isn’t out yet but Public Enemy, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The National, Matt and Kim, Kid Cudi, and Sara Barielles are the first names on the list.

Born during a backstage Bonnaroo downpour, Vito's mission in life is to dance, write, and travel to all the great festivals that this wide world has to offer.
