Aerosmith has been tapped as the latest headliner for Milwaukee’s 2012 Summerfest. The eleven day show (yes, eleven freakin’ days) has announced a good chunk of the lineup over the last week including Steve Miller Band, Grace Potter, Joss Stone, Cake, and Common. Steven Tyler had this to say of the band’s new tour.

“The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with yur mothers,” says Steven Tyler.

Back on topic, Cheap Trick will open for Aerosmith on Saturday at the Marcus Amphitheater. Tickets for the sale go on sale at the end of March. Here’s the deal with Summerfest — it runs similar to a state fair. The event lasts from June 27-July 8 with Monday going dark. Admission is around $10-$15 per day which gets you access to the bulk of the shows. Most nights, there’s a premium show (a festival within a festival) at the Marcus Amphitheater which will cost a bit more but also includes the daily admission fee.

The Current Marcus Amphitheater Schedule:
Aerosmith/Cheap Trick: July 7
Big Time Rush: July 6
Iron Maiden: July 4
The Beach Boys: July 1
Zac Brown Band: July 5
Neil Diamond: July 8
Lady Antebellum: June 30
