Seeing how Music Festival Wizard is based out of New England, it’s always exciting when a new music festival is added to our calendar. This week, we will be checking out the inaugural edition of the Sound on Sound Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This two-day festival from September 24-25 will feature a mix of indie rock, folk, and Americana. The venue is a seaside park right on Long Island Sound – and now you understand where the name of the festival comes from.

The Lineup
According to the daily schedule, we are looking at twenty-four artists with music running from noon to 11 pm. Forty-five minute sets look to be the standard with headliners Stevie Nicks and Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds closing out each night with roughly double that time.

No Overlapping Sets!
The debate over who to see and who to skip is easily solved at S0S by just letting you see every band you paid to see. The Sunset and Seaside stages are side by side so it looks like you may be able to post up in one spot for the entire day.

Selected Picks for Saturday

Not going to lie, but I’m pretty excited for the full lineup from both days. Band of Horses and Father John Misty always puts on a lively show and The Lumineers recently released a stellar album. Jenny Lewis is well on the way to becoming a festival staple so looking forward to seeing her perform. And of course, Stevie Nicks is a legend.

Picks for Sunday

The Head and the Heart has been a longtime favorite in the MFW offices along with more recent additions Gary Clark Jr. and Brandi Carlile. We have covered The National so many times, they might as well be our house band while on the opposite end, we have never seen The Roots live so very much looking forward to that.

Final Thoughts
It’s fall in New England and one of the best (and last) time of the year to get outdoors. Tickets for Sound on Sound Festival can be found here.
