Review Roundup: Primavera Sound ’09

Primavera Sound happened last weekend in Barcelona, and as usual, we’re sweeping the tubes of the Internet for the most interesting and informative reviews. Here is what a few sites had to say about the festivities.

Morelli over at BeatCrave covered all three days of the festival complete with photos, band reviews, and some sweet live video.

In short, the Primavera Sound Festival’s conclusion was a huge success. The weather was perfect all week, the music was top-notch, and I only met friendly people while there. I’m already looking forward to next year! [Read more of the review]

After a disastrous show at the Primavera Festival and an online apology featuring the line “mixing ecstasy valium and xanax before having to play in front of thousands of people was one of the more poor decisions I’ve made (duh)” the rest of his European tour– which was to run through July 3– is apparently cancelled, according to the Wavves MySpace page. Sleepy Sun’s new record is pretty good, but I won’t be able to listen to it again without seeing the male singer strutting to the front of the ATP stage, bending his scrawny body in half, hands on hips, and offsetting his war-painted cheekbones with a big pout. [Read more of the review]
