Review Roundup: CMA Music Festival 2010

Maybe it was the humidity, the slow start or the interminably long set changes. Whatever the cause, Thursday night’s (June 10) show at Nashville’s LP Field that opened the 2010 CMA Music Festival didn’t quite generate the snap and sizzle one hopes for in such events.[Read the rest of the review…]

Once-and-future late-night host Conan O’Brien played a last-minute “secret” show at rocker Jack White’s record store/performance space Third Man Records Thursday night, on the way to his Friday gig at Bonnaroo. The crimson-coiffed talker eschewed most of his comedy bits for a night of sweaty rock ‘n’ roll (including a rehearsed, but previously unplayed, version of Radiohead’s Creep). I attended this year’s 2010 CMA Musicfest and I must say that I had a great time overall, even with the stifling heat. I was most impressed with the talent level and genuine appreciation that all of the stars gave the fans. My family had a great time and we will attend next year. My only negative comment would be that Colt Ford must have pictures of somebody in an act that they shouldn’t have engaged in because he was without a doubt the most no talented waste of time and space that I have witnessed on a stage. I hope this finds the way to his record label and somebody recognizes what a negative effect he has on your label.

Loved Nashville. Love CMA. Love Country Music……………..

We keep trying to get to Nashville for CMA, but get distracted by Bonnaroo! Glad to hear it was a good time though.
