It’s a good day for Midwestern Metallica fans — the Orion Music + More Festival is moving to Michigan. The inuguaral fest which kicked off last year in New Jersey, will now be based on Belle Isle in Detroit for June 8-9, 2013. And get this, it looks like they might be there as long as 2015.

In 2012, headliners included Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultrua, and of course, Metallica, who closed out the event both nights. Look for more of the same.

The 983 acre island could be an ideal spot for a music festival, but has suffered in recent years from a lack of funding. Local officials will hit up promoters of Orion for $100,000 in 2013, $100,000 for 2014 and $250,000 for 2015.

What say you, fellow festival wizards? Would you spend three days in Detroit to see Metallica and friends? Let us know below.
