The Treefort Music Festival is coming to Boise, Idaho this spring and we couldn’t be more excited. For one thing, MFW Headquarters is located just up the road in Big Sky, Montana. There’s not exactly a plethora of local festivals in the area.

Treefort is scheduled from March 22-25, 2012 — another big plus. March is very light on the music festival calendar. It’s mostly dominated by SXSW down in Austin. Speaking of SXSW, the organizers picked this weekend specifically to grab roadtripping artists heading back from Texas. So far the lineup includes: Of Montreal, Built To Spill, WHY?, Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside, Monster Rally & RUMTUM.

The lineup isn’t the only thing inspired by SXSW. Treefort will have a similar feel as artists play at various venues around downtown Boise. If you’ve never been to Idaho’s capital, it’s an extremely fun city. It’s small, easy to navigate with plenty of bars, and loads of scenery.

Boise is also near and dear to our hearts as Stop #33 on on the infamous 100 Days of Winter — The Ultimate Winter Roadtrip. Pack a snowboard because Bogus Basin should still have snow come end of March. We’ll be posting up there during the day.
