The typically quiet month of September has been stacking up an impressive schedule of US festivals. Case in point, check out the 12th edition of MusicFestNW (MFNW) which takes place in Portland, Oregon, from September 5-9. Willamette Week, the hip alt-newspaper behind the fest, just announced a lineup that has us scouring the Internet for plane tickets.
Beirut, Silversun Pickups, and Girl Talk are slated for the big weekend outdoor shows. Then you’ve got a kick-off show with Passion Pit, the reunited Hot Snakes, and alt-country darlings Old 97’s. Ceremony, Julia Holter, Lightning Bolt, The Men, Fucked Up, Trust, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, and Dinosaur Jr. will perform sets as well. All told, we’re going to be looking at 150 bands playing for five days at 16 venues around Portland. See the lineup in all its glory below.
Tickets: A price tag of $125 will get you into every show at MFNW. The $75 wristband provides access to every venue as well, but only one ticket to one of the three outdoor shows (Silversun Pickups, Girl Talk, or Beirut).
