If our search traffic is any indication, Gorillaz will be the hottest festival artist of the summer. The virtual band, which had been quiet for years, exploded this winter with a flurry of buzz about their anticipated album and tour. Adding to the hype, Gorillaz announced that their first festival appearance would be a one-day festival in the UK curated by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett called Demon Dayz. This was followed by planned stops around the world: The Quebec City Summer Festival in Canada, Fuji Rock in Japan, and Outside Lands in California.
