A trip to Mexico during the middle of winter to see a LCD Soundsystem curated festival? That was the plan at least, for the debut of the Beach Vibes Festival, scheduled for January 27-29, 2017, in Riviera Maya. It’s been announced that the destination festival has been cancelled before any of us even got to dip our toes in the ocean. Hot Chip, Run the Jewels, Carl Craig along with with two sets from LCD Soundsystem were part of the lineup.

No specific reason was stated for the cancellation other than the vague one below and the Facebook page for the event has already been wiped clean.

“The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike. Therefore, canceling the weekend-long event is in the best interest of all involved.”

“Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days.”
