The MFW crew is currently passing through Asheville, North Carolina — one of our favorite cities on the East Coast. Of course a city this rad must have a unique music festival. Moogfest, which debuted in October last year, is back again in 2011 with an even larger lineup. Three days of music along with a promising art exhibit/talk from the legendary Brian Eno makes Moogfest the Halloween destination.
The Rundown

The Lineup
Moby, TV on the Radio, and Chromeo kick off Friday night. Saturday features the Flaming Lips (a must see live show), along with STS9, Crystal Castles, and Battles. Sunday’s headliners include Passion Pit, Umphrey’s Mcgee, and Ghostland Observatory. See the full lineup down below.
The Scene
Moogfest takes place at about half a dozen different downtown venues. If you’ve never been to Asheville, it’s worth the trip. In between shows, you will find an abundance of fun bars, tasty restaurants, and hipster coffee shops. Your best bet for value lodging is to cram into a room at the Four Points Sheraton which puts you in walking distance from damn near everything.
