Manchester, Tennessee isn’t exactly a transit hub which makes travel to the four day Bonnaroo spectacle a bit of a challenge for festival-goers who own a non-existent car. Here’s a few ideas for making your way to the ‘Roo.
The Festival Shuttle
Bonnaroo does offer shuttle service from the Nashville airport to the grounds. There’s no Sunday service and a few other catches. A roundtrip ticket will cost you around $70.
Riding The Dog
Greyhound may be a crowded and dirty way to travel, but they have a Manchester stop with at least one Nashville arrival a day. Tickets for the bus will run around $20, and once to Manchester you’ll still need to catch a cab or walk to Bonnaroo.
Message Boards
Almost all artist fan and festival sites have a carpooling section. Sign up, log-in, and meet some new friends heading in your direction. Start your ride sharing search with Inforoo, one of the largest ones.
Bonnaroo Ride Finder
Much more intuitive than message boards is the Bonnaroo Ride Finder which sets people up with rides and riders. The site uses a simple Google Maps interface that makes it a snap to add your location and contact other festies.
Hitching
With 75,000 chill people heading to Manchester, odds of catching a ride are very high. Be safe, be careful, and follow the tips outlined in this article and you’ll be at the festival grounds in no time.
