Hopscotch Music Festival Lineup 2012

Hopscotch has announced a huge lineup.

The Roots, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Built To Spill will headline the 2012 Hopscotch Festival held in downtown Raleigh. The early September show (Sept. 6-8) will feature 175 bands in 15 venues over the three days. Produced by the Independent Weekly newspaper, Hopscotch strives to represent local, regional, and national acts that cover a wide variety of genres.

Some of the more recognizable names in the lineup include: Yo La Tengo, Liars, Sunn O))), Danny Brown, Thee Oh Sees, Baroness, Death Grips, Deerhoof, Damien Jurado, Flosstradamus, Zola Jesus, Laurel Halo, Pallbearer, Young Magic, Lambchop, Cities Aviv, Oneida, Wye Oak, Samantha Crain, Glenn Jones, The Spits and Colin Stetson.

This is the third outing of the Hopscotch and it just keeps getting larger each year. This North Carolina showcase fest, along with MoogFest in neighboring Asheville and the Athens PopFest, are really staking the claim that the South is the place to be come this autumn for music festivals.
