Glastonbury, Creamfields, and Sonisphere Among Top Honors At UK Festival Awards

The 2011 UK Festival Awards handed out trophies to the best fests in the UK. About two hundred festivals were nominated over a variety of categories with hundreds of thousands votes casted.  Glastonbury nabbed a win for “Best Major Festival”, while Sonisphere received props for pulling together the Big 4 (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth) in their lineup.

Best Metropolitan Festival: Tramlines
Best Small Festival: End of the Road
Best Medium Festival: Secret Garden Party
Best New Festival: Wilderness
Best Family Festival: Beautiful Days
Best Dance Event: Creamfields
Best Overseas Festival: Outlook in Croatia
Best Line-Up: Sonisphere
Fan’s Favourite Festival: Bestival
The Grass Roots Festival Award: Y-Not Festival (they also won ‘Best Toilets’ award)
