Perhaps the best description of the New York City Governor’s Ball is from the official site where they describe themselves as “one big party, so bring your foot spray – it will get funky.”
Funky enough for the 2011 inaugural festival to not only return for 2012, but to add an extra day. The dates announced for this year are June 23-24, 2012. No word on ticket prices yet, but keep checking the site for info.
The festival once again will take place on Randall’s Island located on the East River between East Harlem, the South Bronx and Astoria, Queens. You could get there by car, but why would you when there’s a 15 minute ferry ride available?
Last year’s lineup featured Pretty Lights, Girl Talk, Passion Pit, Neon Indian, Miami Horror, Girl Talk, and Das Racist. Expect this year to include plenty of toe-tapping booty-shaking artists as well.
