Over the last two decades, Gathering of the Vibes has been a stalwart of the New England festival scene, so it comes as a bit of a shock when founder Ken Hays announced that there wouldn’t be a 2016 edition. The reason given in statement on the official website states that “producing the Vibes as an independent promoter is a challenging endeavor, and honestly, after 20 amazing years, we need a time out.”

The four-day July festival started in 1996 as a tribute to Jerry Garcia and grew to an attendance of around 25,000 in recent years.
