The legendary Isle of Wight Festival is the traditional kick-off to the UK summer festival season. Europe's equivalent of Woodstock started in 1968 and has hosted rock and roll royalty like Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, and Coldplay.
