Festival Hub: Imaginarium

The Scene: Step into the wild dreams of France's Imaginarium Festival, two days of music and camping in the French countryside.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the placement of the Imaginarium in judicial liquidation.
After two editions canceled due to the health crisis in 2020 and 2021, Imaginarium was back on June 4 and 5, 2022. Unfortunately the party was quickly ruined by a severe storm. Beyond the consequences on the festival experience, this meteorological event has had a heavy financial impact for the association (loss of recipes and deterioration of material), which is in addition to an overall increase in costs in the event world since the exit of the health crisis. So the stakes for the tenth edition were strong.
The whole association has worked tirelessly for a year to succeed in proposing a quality festival, in a context where we minimized budgets and prices increased for all our spending items.
Despite all our efforts, the turnout during this edition was not sufficient to reach the balance that would have allowed the association to continue. During a hearing at the Judicial Court of Compiègne, on June 12th, the association was placed in judicial recovery. Since that date, we have been working on developing scenarios that allow the festival to continue. However, we have not been able to reach a plan that would reasonably consider a new edition of the festival. That is why we asked the association to be placed in judicial liquidation, a liquidation that was pronounced by the Court Judiciary de Compiègne on December 8.
So the 2023 edition of the Imaginarium was the tenth and last. We’ll keep this as the memory of a sunny weekend where music was highlighted in all its diversity.
The Imaginarium Festival was created by UTC students in 2013 and remained an independent student festival from the first to the last edition. Our goal was to offer a human-sized event and to make you (re)discover artists from various backgrounds, from the amateur band to the biggest headline. The identity of the Imaginarium is also based on its strong social commitment. We wanted to show that it was possible to combine music festivals and sustainable development and we did our best to ensure a safe and festive atmosphere for all. We hope we have been able to pass on our love of music and the values we stand for and that they will continue to resonate through you.
