It’s finally time. As festivals have become more and more popular over the last few years, festival season keeps growing longer and longer. There is no better way to start this year off than with the BUKU Music and Art Project which takes place this Friday and Saturday in New Orleans. Just the thought of a festival in New Orleans, one of the biggest party cities on earth, is enough to put a smile on any festie’s face.

This is going to be my first time to Buku but I have heard from many a seasoned festival veteran that BUKU is a really good one. If the reputation isn’t enough for you to make the trip, just look at the lineup. In two days you will be able to take in the likes of Griz, The Flaming Lips, Phantogram, David Guetta, Kaskade, Soul Clap,  Beats Antique, and Chromeo, just to name a few. I’m also excited that Buku goes until 2am and has after parties that go until 6am.

What other surprises does the Bukrew (awesome name) have is store for you? That’s a good question. I have heard rumors of some killer art installations and hammocks. I’m particularly excited to see what kind of food is available considering New Orleans has its own type of food.

Tune in next week for a full review on what BUKU was really like. In the meantime I’ll do my best to show you what it’s like through Instagram (@thefestivalguy) and on twitter (@thefestivalguy).

Music, friends, dancing, and partying all at one place? The Festival Guy was born for this. His mission is to be the voice of the festival subculture and find solutions to festival problems with the goal of maximizing the experience for everyone.
