Two fests joined the music festival deadpool this week. The Big Barrel Country Music Festival debuted last summer in Delaware and was supposed to be Goldenvoice’s push for an east coast version of the highly successful Stagecoach. Dates had been selected for 2016, but organizers pulled the plug with a short statement on the official website this week. No reasons were given for the cancellation and refunds will be given out starting in February.

Chance of Returning? 4 out of 10. Goldenvoice isn’t new to the festival game (Coachella, Stagecoach, Firefly) so we wouldn’t be surprised to see a push in the future for some more east coast country, but the market for this festival genre has become highly competitive in the last couple years.

The Scottish Wickerman Festival has been running since 2001 and is known for its counter-culture family-friendly vibe. Following the death of the event’s co-founder in 2015, Wickerman has cancelled the 2016 event.

Chance of Returning? 9 out of 10. Sounds like Wickerman has hit a small bump in the road. This is a beloved DIY fest that already promises to return July 21-22, 2017.
