Festival Briefs: Kings of Leon/Kasabian In, Green Day Out

United States:
After Billie Jo Armstrong’s spectacular breakdown during the iHeartRadio Festival, Green Day is cancelling all 2012 shows and 2013 appearances up to February. Rehab is a bitch.

Kings of Leon
will join Depeche Mode headlining the Optimus Alive Festival in Lisbon this July.

Kasabian announced that their first festival stop this year will be the ultimate apres-ski party — Snowbombing.  According to the band: “We have heard amazing things about Snowbombing over the years. Dance music has always been a massive influence on us so we are very exited to play this iconic event.”

The financially trouble Benicassim Festival has secured a future at least through this summer. After going bankrupt in September, promoter Vince Power will rebuy the event.

Lily Allen won’t take her kids to Glastonbury because she wants to have fun: “I was taken to the Glastonbury Festival every year but I won’t be taking Ethel there — although that’s more for selfish reasons, because I want to go and enjoy myself!”
