Day of the Dead Is Technically Cancelled
After an Instagram post of a text conversation went viral (welcome to 2016), organizers from Hard Day of the Dead have confirmed that the Halloween fest will not happen. Even though this would be DOD’s seventh year, it most definitely wasn’t cancelled according to a spokeperson because “technically, Hard Day of the Dead 2016 was never even announced.”

The War on Raves: Kaskade Can’t Keep Quiet
The cancellation of Day of the Dead prompted the Los Angeles Times to continue their summertime bashing of the electronic music scene. This time around, they deemed 2016 the not-at-all inflammatory “summer of deaths” and backed up their thesis by bringing up incidents from 2010 and 2014. And boy, did that ever piss off Kaskade who unloaded on the paper with this rant.

Three Things to Love: Beer, Jam, and 420
The Sweetwater 420 Fest in downtown Atlanta has already announced their headliners for 2017. Four sets by Widespread Panic, two sets by the Trey Anastasio band, a bunch of other artists, and of course, loads of Sweetwater beer.

Outside Lands Celebrates Tenth Birthday
San Francisco’s mega-festival Outside Lands has announced 10th anniversary dates from August 11-13, 2017. Is it possible to book Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem every year?

#FestivalTheWorld
It’s a big world, it’s time to get out there and festival it. Tickets that went on sale for 2017 this week include Barcelona’s Vida Festival, Ultra Festival in South Africa, and LoveBox. Need more inspiration for traveling the globe? Check out 100 Nights of Summer.
