Australia Declares War on Festivals
It’s been pretty dire for music festivals in New South Wales for awhile now, but now the government wants to clamp down even harder with new legislation. According to a new bill, the licensing agency for music festivals will determine the “risk” of each fest on a case by case basis, with “high-risk” events incurring costly additional fees. Mountain Sounds and PSYFARI have already cancelled 2019 editions, citing “a war on festivals” by the government.
