America’s latest EDM festival export will be to China, as reported by Billboard. Electric Zoo, based out of New York City, is scheduled to hold a single day event in Shanghai. It’s being called “Electric Zoo: Countdown Shanghai” and is slated for November 12, 2016.

Last summer, China cracked down on public gatherings, cancelling everything from the Strawberry Music Festival to an Earth Day Event, so we remain cautiously optimistic about the latest edition of Electric Zoo. Maybe leave the pasties and theme bikinis at home for this one.

Made Events, the organizers of Electric Zoo, are the latest in a trend of US EDM fests trying to crack into previously untapped Asian markets. Ultra just completed shows in Hong Kong and Japan while Electric Daisy Carnival is venturing to India this November.
