After narrowly gaining approval from the small but mighty Grant Township Board, the Electric Forest Festival in Michigan has officially announced dates from June 25-28, 2015. EF2015 also looks like they’re unveiling a pretty new website. No word yet on tickets or lineup but we’re guessing that it won’t be as exciting as the small town politics behind festival permitting.

The festival typically boasts more than 35,000 attendees which requires a permit from the township. The tight vote passed 3-2 with the two nays coming from the same two sourpusses that have been voting down the festival since its inception. Joanna Heck acting like a mother scared by heavy metal music in the eighties claimed that “money doesn’t make evil right, so I’m voting against it,” while good old boy Jim Aebig said he was “swinging the bat for the little guy,” which one can assume means he’s standing up for the old-man-you-kids-get-off-the-lawn demographic.

While we wait for more details, here’s the five part recap from EF 2014.
