If the crowds, traffic, and heat of Chicago are what’s keeping you away from the Lollapalooza and Pitchfork music festivals, we suggest checking out Pygmalion 2011.  This four day fest takes place during a much cooler month (September 21-24) in a way smaller city (Champaign-Urbana) at a cheaper price (tickets start at $60).

The lineup this year includes Explosions in the Sky, Braid, Toro Y Moi, Deerhoof, and Japandroids. More acts will be announced as it gets closer to showtime, but some of the other acts include: Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Brass Bed, Ivan and Alyosha, Ava Luna, Adam Arcuragi, Grave Babies, The Parsons Red Head, An Evening With Your Mother, Common Loon, The Dirty Feathers, Elsinore, The Fresh Kills, Grandkids, Iron Tigers, The Leadership, Roberta Sparrow, Take Care, That’s No Moon, Why I Like Robbins and Withershins.

Born during a backstage Bonnaroo downpour, Vito's mission in life is to dance, write, and travel to all the great festivals that this wide world has to offer.
