The storied past of the iconic CBGB venue got us all kinds of excited for the inaugural NYC festival announced for July 5-8, 2012. Turns out we weren’t the only ones as the first year fest jumped immediately into the #4 spot on The MFW 50, our monthly recap of the most popular festivals on the site. Now there’s a lineup and even more reason to get fired up. Acts will include nineties legends like Superchunk, MxPx, Guided By Voices along with Wyclef Jean, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Reggie Watts, David Johansen, The War on Drugs and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. See the rest of the current lineup below.

Besides live music, a film festival will highlight music documentaries. An industry conference will highlight how to succeed in the new music business. And the spirits festival will highlight how to get drunk in a classy style with local whiskey distilleries.

Tickets: Events take place at various venues — not the original venue which closed in 2006. A badge will be your admission to everything. A music-only badge runs between $79-$89. Various combo badges as well as tickets to the spirits tasting can be found here on the official site.
