For the second year in a row, Brainquility Festival made its home at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. After a brief storm struck down power and postponed some of the Thursday evening sets, production swiftly got everything up and running with an extended noise curfew so attendees could still groove as planned to the funky sounds of The Floozies.

The following days of the festival showcased the best of Florida weather with abundant sunshine and bright blue skies. Bringing more funk to the grounds of Suwannee, Brainquility did not disappoint. For a festival that once took place right outside Tampa without the option to camp, Brainquility seems to have found its place among the heavily forested campgrounds next to the Spirit of Suwannee Lake. It’s hard to imagine the festival thriving anywhere else now.

Although chillier than average temperatures swept the festival grounds each night, attendees were in high spirits the entire weekend. Given the laid back nature that Suwannee Music Park upholds, attendees were seen playing games of bonfire hopping and checking out neighbors campsites after the music ended. If you were lucky, you might have even caught house DJ Kill Paris, taking to the trees and using the bio-data of the surrounding Florida flora and fauna to create music.

As with every festival that takes place at Suwanee, a special crowd emerged at Brainquility to celebrate a weekend full of music and good vibes. Especially true for the smaller festivals at Suwannee like Brainquility and Purple Hatters Ball, very few attendees were seen with phones in their face. Instead, everyone came out to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and groove into the night alongside headliners such as Manic Focus, Russ Liquid, SunSquabi, Confresi and more.

Topping off an already perfect weekend with fantastic production, the Brainquility team received word from Suwannee Music Park that Brainquility 2020 was one of the cleanest festivals they’ve ever had!

Falling asleep to concert DVDs as a wee tot next her to her Dad at decibels surely scorned by doctors, Alex’s passion for music sprouted alongside classics like The Beatles, Zeppelin, and Joplin. During her time at Florida State University she learned, much to the dismay of said Dad, that other music existed besides classic rock and thus began her voyage to music festivals far and wide. Typically seen cradling a camera under her arm, you can catch Alex traversing the globe for her next adventure.
