Bon Jovi, Jimmy Buffet, Kid Rock, Robert Plant: The 2011 New Orleans Jazz Fest

What a week! First Coachella drops their massive lineup, and now the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival announced their 2011 artists. You’ve got your classic rockers like Bon Jovi, Robert Plant, and Jeff Beck. You’ve got some of your media darlings like Arcade Fire, the Decemberists, and Wilco. And then you’ve got your WTF artists like Kenny G, Cyndi Lauper, and Better Than Ezra.

If any of the above don’t sound like jazz (except of course for the smooth jazz stylings of Kenny G), just keep scrolling down the list below and you’ll find plenty of soul, funk, and jazz bands. Not sure if this is the full lineup. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some more in the next couple months.

Born during a sweaty, backstage, Bonnaroo downpour, the editor-in-chief's mission in life is to dance, write, and travel to every great festival that this wide world has to offer. While his identity remains a mystery, you may have already met him, probably when he helped himself to your party favors.
