Elton John and Snoop Dogg topped a gigantic list of lineup announcements for the Bestival Festival 2013. Other artists include UK festival exclusive sets from M.I.A., The Flaming Lips, The Roots, and Franz Ferdinand along with performances from The Knife, Wu-Tang Clan, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Sinead O’ Connor. The show takes place September 5-8, 2013, at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.
You know what they do with UK festivals that they don’t do in the US? They pick a a theme each year and run with it. This year Bestival will be hitting the metaphorical high seas with a nautical theme.
All the nice girls love a sailor and all the boys love a mermaid. Think deckhands, anchors, beach parties, Moby Dick, tattooed ladies, Titanic, shipwrecks, Hawaii, Treasure Island, rum bars in scuzzy ports, message in a bottle, the crows nest, sea legends, monster breakers and tall tales of life on the ocean waves.
