With literally hundreds of music festivals in the United States, it seems a daunting task to narrow it down to “The best”, but that hasn’t stopped Pollstar from including music festivals in the 23rd Anniversary Pollstar Awards. Kudos to the organization for finally recognizing some of the amazing smaller fests that aren’t as widely known around the states like Hangout and the Newport Folk Festival.

The Pollstar Awards will be held at Club Nokia Los Angeles L.A. LIVE on Friday, February 3, 2012.

This is the first year that there’s a separate category for the major festivals (ACL, Bonnaroo, etc…) Still though, there’s enough homegrown fests that a few extra awards could be added to the list…

Here are the nominees of the 2012 Pollstar Awards:

Major Music Festival of the Year (non-touring)
Austin City Limits Music Festival (Austin, TX)
Bonnaroo Music Festival (Manchester, TN)
Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (Indio, CA)
