Music festivals in the United States have been releasing 2018 lineups at a furious pace over the last couple weeks. We’ve collected some of the major fests of the US below including Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Governors Ball, along with a few that might not have crossed your radar. Coachella Music Festival 2018

When: April 13-22, 2018

Where: Indio, CA


The Scene: Like a barometer always reading a temperature of awesome, the traditional kickoff to the summer festival season is dominated by Coachella. The glitz and glamour of Los Angeles migrates east to the Indio desert for back to back weekends of the biggest names in music. What started as a small electronic festival in the desert has transformed into a cultural touchstone for the festival season.

Bonnaroo Music Festival 2018

When: June 7-10, 2018

Where: Manchester, TN


The Scene: Over the last decade, no other US music festival has captured the spirit of large greenfield gatherings like the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Bonnaroo burst onto the scene grabbing headlines along with our hearts as we watched it grow from scrappy newcomer to a full fledged anchor of the summer. It may not be the oldest or the largest, but Bonnaroo is the spirit of the quintessential American music festival. Long live The Roo.

Firefly Music Festival 2018

When: June 14-17, 2018

Where: Dover, DE


The Scene: In only a few short years, the Firefly Music Festival has become a solid addition to the East Coast summer calendar. Set in the forested landscape of The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Delaware, Firefly boasts seven stages and over a 100 performers each year.

Governors Ball Music Festival 2018

When: June 1-3, 2018

Where: New York City, NY


The Scene: New York City struggled for years to land a proper mega-festival and finally found the perfect partner with The Governor’s Ball. Taking place on the Hudson River on Randall’s Island, festival fans can settle back and enjoy the show with the unforgettable NYC skyline as the backdrop.

Bottlerock Napa Valley 2018

When: May 25-27, 2018

Where: Napa, CA


The Scene: Wine meets music when artists from around the world descend on Napa Valley just north of San Francisco. The internationally renown wine region lets it all hang out during this Memorial Day Weekend Festival, putting out one of the best West Coast lineups of the season.

Boston Calling 2018

When: May 25-27, 2018

Where: Allston, MA


The Scene: It’s been a dry spell for Boston and music festivals until Boston Calling showed up with this downtown fest. As if making up for lost time, Boston Calling now happens twice a year. The spring version takes place over Memorial Day Weekend and has featured acts like Death Cab for Cutie, The National, Bastille, and Built to Spill.

Hangout Fest 2018

When: May 18-20, 2018

Where: Gulf Shores, AL


The Scene: Hangout takes music festivalling to the beach with this springtime party held mid-May on the golden sands of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The huge lineup of just about every genre frequently gives a sneak peek to what's coming this summer in the United States. As far as we know, this is the only festival in the world where you can watch the main stage from a hot tub.

In Bloom Festival 2018

When: March 24-25, 2018

Where: Houston, TX


The Scene: Formally the Free Press Summer Fest, In Bloom Festival rebranded in 2018 along with a move to the much cooler season of March. The Houston festival now features one of the most stacked lineups of spring.

Shaky Knees Festival 2018

When: May 4-6, 2018

Where: Atlanta, GA


The Scene: Drawing in nearly 40,000 attendees, Shaky Knees Festival brings a highly desired indie scene to the streets of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. In an era where most festival headliners feature a variation of EDM/DJ acts, Shaky Knees lives to show another side of modern day music.

Welcome to Rockville 2018

When: April 27-29, 2018

Where: Jacksonville, FL


The Scene: Welcome to Rockville roars into Jacksonville, Florida, every spring with a powerful rock and metal lineup. Part of the World's Loudest Month, more than 50,000 fans show up for a monster weekend of nonstop rock with 45 bands on 4 stages.

The National Homecoming 2018

When: April 28-29, 2018

Where: Cincinnati, OH


The Scene: International superstars, The National, return to their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, playing two unique sets over two nights. They'll be joined by 20+ artists along with city-wide performances and other surprises!

Carolina Rebellion 2018

When: May 4-6, 2018

Where: Concord, NC


The Scene: For three days in May, the Charlotte Motor Speedway trades in fast cars for even faster music. The Carolina Rebellion Festival has become popular with fans for delivering a rock and metal lineup not typically seen in the United States.

BUKU Music + Art Project 2018

When: March 9-10, 2018

Where: New Orleans, LA


The Scene: From the venue to the art to the music, BUKU is one of the most unique festivals of the spring. With a post-industrial setting as a backdrop and featuring music from electronic, indie, and hip hop, BUKU strives and succeeds as a true festival experience. Catch up on your sleep -- with the all night shows in the city of New Orleans, you're going to need your rest.

Okeechobee Music Festival 2018

When: March 1-4, 2018

Where: Okeechobee, FL


The Scene: Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival burst onto the Florida scene in 2016 and immediately become a fan favorite. Taking place in early March, Okeechobee is now the first major music festival of the US festival season and provides a glimpse of touring summertime artists. The festival's home at Sunshine Grove is a treat for campers with lush grassy fields, a sandy beach, and a majestic grove.

McDowell Mountain Music Festival (M3F) 2018

When: March 2-4, 2018

Where: Phoenix, AZ


The Scene: It may be late spring everywhere else in the United States, but March is like summertime down in Arizona and McDowell Mountain Music Festival (M3F Fest) takes full advantage of the warm weather. The now annual celebration of community and charity has become a solid fixture in the growing Phoenix festival scene.

Treefort Music Festival 2018

When: March 21-25, 2018

Where: Boise, ID


The Scene: Boise in Idaho may sound like an odd city choice for an epic festival, but the Treefort Festival continues to impress us year after year. Treefort typically takes place the week after SXSW to take advantage of artists heading back to the Northwest. Short lines and a welcoming city continually keeps Treefort at the top of our list. Since their inception, the festival has grown in size to include film, yoga, beer, and comedy.

Summer Camp 2018

When: May 25-28, 2018

Where: Chillicothe, IL


The Scene: From chilled out late night campfire jams to beat busting dance shows, the party at Summer Camp goes long past the end of scheduled performances. “Scampers” can apply to become camp counselors which means free tickets, free camping, and free beer in exchange for being an official party ambassador to the other attendees. Our resident festival expert calls Summer Camp — “The best festival of the Memorial Day Weekend.”
